Blues band bringing the sounds of a classic Mississippi juke-joint to the California and beyond.
Delta by the Beach create new original blues songs at times reminiscent of the classic singles of the 40's and 50's. They also have songs that bend the blues forms into more modern shapes, but retaining the charaterisics and ethos of the older styles.
This band is built to honor and extend blues tradition, helping to keep the music alive.
We take our inspiration from the current Mississippi blues scene...a lively hybrid of rock, blues and even occassionaly hip hop.
We wanted to confine the studio tricks to things they might have had at Sun Records in the 50's. Reverb, some slapback.
But we caved in and brought the drums and bass to current sonic standards.
